After-Hours Emergencies 

If you are an established patient and have a dental emergency after hours, call 903-776-4537 and leave a message. A team member will contact you as soon as possible.

Tooth Ache

Toothache

  • Clean around the sore tooth carefully.
  • Rinse with warm salt water to remove trapped food.
  • Do not put aspirin on the tooth or gum.
  • Apply a cold compress if there is swelling.
  • Take acetaminophen for pain relief.
  • Contact us if pain lasts more than a day.
Cut or Bitten Tongue, Lip or Cheek

Cut or Bitten Tongue, Lip, or Cheek

  • Apply ice to bruised areas.
  • Use firm pressure with gauze or a clean cloth to stop bleeding.
  • If bleeding continues past 15 minutes, go to the nearest emergency room.
Broken Tooth

  • Save any fragments.
  • Rinse your mouth with warm water.
  • Apply a cold compress to the face.
  • Seek dental care immediately.
Knocked Out Permanent Tooth

Knocked-Out Permanent Tooth

  • Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root.
  • Rinse gently if needed, but do not scrub.
  • Try to reinsert it in the socket and hold with gauze.
  • If re-insertion isn’t possible, keep it in milk or water.
  • See a dentist immediately—time is critical.

  • Gently tie the mouth closed with a towel, tie, or handkerchief.
  • Go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
