Eric C. Barnes, D.D.S.

ERIC-BARNESDr. Eric Barnes earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2014. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Seattle Study Club.

Dr. Barnes moved back to his hometown after dental school to become active in the North Iowa community and help the residents with their dental needs. He volunteers with the Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity, and is an active member of Praise Community Church. Dr. Barnes loves animals - especially his dogs, Louie and Wilson, two very large and lovable Bernese Mountain dogs! He is also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoys playing golf.

He is married to Katie, who you may recognize as a past dental hygienist of DCNI, together they have two sons; Jack and Parker (perhaps, future DCNI dentists).

Dan R. Garman, D.D.S.

DAN-GARMANNorth Iowa native, Dr. Garman earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2014. Prior to dental school, Dr. Garman graduated with highest distinction from the University of Iowa with a Bachelors in Integrative Physiology and minored in Business Administration.

Dr. Garman has been in the dental field for several years and recently made the decision to move back to the area in 2018 to join our DCNI team and raise his family. A member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association and Seattle Study Club, Dr. Garman, in addition, has completed several advanced training courses in clear aligner orthodontics and implant dentistry.

Dr. Garman enjoys spending time with his wife, Kara and their two kids, Amara and Jordyn and let us not forget about their dogs, Zoey and Nala. When the family events allow for a little free time, you can find him golfing, swimming, spending time outdoors and in typical DCNI fashion of most of our team, cheering on those Hawkeyes!

Kathryn E. Odland, D.D.S.

KATIE-ODLANDMeet Dr. Katie Odland. Dr. Odland was born in Sioux Falls, SD, but grew up in West Des Moines. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2013 and previous to that she graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Integrative Physiology.

She found herself working in Rochester, Minnesota following dental school while her husband, Andrew, was finishing up his residency at Mayo Clinic. Her husband's role took them to South Lake Tahoe last year while Andrew was doing his fellowship. They have now settled back in Iowa to be close to family, which luckily brought her to the Dental Center of North Iowa team!

A member of the American Dental Association and Iowa Dental Association, Dr. Odland has completed courses in clear aligner orthodontics and sleep medicine.

She and her husband have three kids, Jack, Lydia and Anna and two loveable dogs, Cooper & Koda. Much like the rest of our providers, Dr. Odland comes to us as a true Hawkeye fan! In her spare time, she also enjoys running, skiing, traveling and anything that finds her outdoors. We continue to be so lucky to have her on the DCNI team!

Cole Blodgett, D.D.S

COLE-BLODGETTNative to the state of Wisconsin, Dr. Cole earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Creighton University in 2022. Prior to dental school, Dr. Cole graduated from the University of Iowa in 2018 with honors in Human Physiology. Moving onto Dentistry was always his drive and easy choice, having come from a long line of dental professionals in his family. Dr. Cole is an active member in both the American Dental Association & Seattle Study Club and is excited about bringing some new treatment options to our DCNI lineup…stay tuned!

Many who are familiar to the North Iowa area, may remember Dr. Cole's  grandfather, Dr. Gary Blodgett, DDS MS, who served several years as a well-respected and talented Orthodontist right here in North Iowa. Dr. Cole was ecstatic for the opportunity to call North Iowa home like so many before him did and found himself residing to the Clear Lake area. We aren't the only ones happy to have him call North Iowa home, he and his Grandma have weekly dinners and we know, Grandma Sandy (as the office refers to her), is so proud and enjoys the close proximity to her grandson!

In his free time, Dr. Cole enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing; if it's outdoors, you name it, Dr. Cole is on it - his most memorable of times is spent in outdoor activity. He too, classifies himself as a major sports junky; Iowa Hawkeyes (we know how to pick them - Go Hawks!), Green Bay Packers & Chicago Cubs. In the fall, you will find him trekking back to his alma mater sitting in the stands of Kinnick Stadium every home football game cheering on that black & gold. He's been a great addition to his patients and our team here at DCNI!
