About Our Doctors
Dr. Eric Barnes
Dr. Barnes earned his DDS from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2014. He is a member of the American Dental Association and Seattle Study Club. After dental school, he returned to his hometown to serve the North Iowa community.
Dr. Barnes is active in the community, volunteering with the Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity, and is a member of Praise Community Church. He enjoys golf, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time with his dogs, Louie and Wilson.
He is married to Katie, a former DCNI dental hygienist, and they have two sons, Jack and Parker.
Dr. Dan Garman
A North Iowa native, Dr. Garman earned his DDS from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2014. He graduated with highest distinction in Integrative Physiology and minored in Business Administration.
Dr. Garman returned to the area in 2018 to join DCNI and raise his family. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and Seattle Study Club, and has advanced training in clear aligners and implant dentistry.
He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kara, their children, Amara and Jordyn, and their dogs, Zoey and Nala. In his free time, he enjoys golf, swimming, outdoor activities, and cheering on the Hawkeyes.
Dr. Katie Odland
Dr. Odland earned her DDS from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2013, along with a bachelor’s degree in Integrative Physiology. She previously practiced in Minnesota and California before returning to Iowa to be closer to family.
She is a member of the American Dental Association and Iowa Dental Association and has completed additional training in clear aligner orthodontics and sleep medicine.
Dr. Odland and her husband, Andrew, have three children—Jack, Lydia, and Anna—and two dogs, Cooper and Koda. She enjoys running, skiing, traveling, the outdoors, and cheering on the Hawkeyes.
Dr. Cole Blodgett
Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Blodgett earned his DDS from Creighton University in 2022 and graduated with honors in Human Physiology from the University of Iowa. Dentistry runs in his family, including his grandfather, Dr. Gary Blodgett, a respected North Iowa orthodontist.
Dr. Cole is a member of the American Dental Association and Seattle Study Club and is excited to bring new treatment options to DCNI. He now calls the Clear Lake area home.
In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, skiing, and golfing. A devoted sports fan, he cheers for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Cubs.
